Our mission is to restore hope, reduce barriers, and empower individuals and families through compassionate outreach, essential resources, advocacy, and community-centered support. We are committed to addressing homelessness, substance use, human trafficking, and other challenges by meeting people where they are, fostering meaningful partnerships, and creating opportunities for stability, healing, and a better quality of life for all.
Who are we?
Lived Experience Professionals
Founded on lived experience and a passion for community, Another Chance 4 Hope (AC4H) began in 2017 with home-cooked meals and became an established nonprofit in March 2020. What started as an effort to support unsheltered youth has grown into a community-wide mission rooted in hope, dignity, and second chances.
Today, AC4H serves individuals and families through harm reduction, housing and resource navigation, advocacy, human trafficking prevention, and access to essential needs. Through trusted partnerships and meaningful connections, we break down barriers and empower our community to build healthier, more stable futures.
Meet Our Founders
Leondray Owens | Co-Founder & CEO
Drawing from his own lived experience, Leondray is deeply committed to helping individuals experiencing long-term homelessness find pathways to safe, stable housing. Having experienced the challenges of homelessness himself, he understands that having a place to call home is more than having a roof overhead—it's about dignity, security, and a chance to rebuild.
With his genuine compassion, infectious humor, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life, Leondray brings warmth and hope to those he serves. His passion is simple yet powerful: helping others experience the stability, belonging, and peace that come with finally having a home.
Angela Cuellar | Co-Founder & Executive Director
A passionate community advocate with experience dating back to 2009, Angela has dedicated her career to transforming lived experience into meaningful action. Her professional background spans shelter case management, United Way 211 resource navigation, suicide prevention and crisis intervention through the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, and community outreach. These experiences have given her a deep understanding of the complex barriers individuals and families face when seeking safety, stability, and support.
As a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, trained sexual assault advocate, and Chair of the Hennepin County Opioid Advisory Council, Angela combines professional training with firsthand understanding to advocate for underserved communities. Her work reflects a deeply personal commitment to transforming adversity into purpose, ensuring that individuals facing homelessness, substance use, exploitation, mental health challenges, and other hardships are met with compassion, dignity, and opportunities for a better future.
What we do
Another Chance 4 Hope (AC4H) serves as a trusted community resource, helping individuals and families overcome barriers to accessing essential services and support. Through direct MOBILE outreach, advocacy, resource navigation, and community partnerships, we connect people with housing assistance, basic necessities, harm reduction services, substance use education, overdose prevention, and other vital resources. Our approach is rooted in compassion, dignity, and meeting people where they are, empowering community members to make informed decisions, achieve stability, and build healthier, more hopeful futures.
Networking and relationship building
We foster opportunities for individuals and families to build meaningful connections, strengthen relationships, and improve their overall well-being. Through community engagement, collaboration, and strategic partnerships, we connect people with the resources, support, and opportunities they need to overcome barriers, achieve stability, and reach their fullest potential.
